Gwen Ifill Mentorship Program 2027

Ends on

The IWMF is thrilled to launch the sixth year of the Gwen Ifill Mentorship Program. This program is designed to address the lack of diversity in leadership positions across newsrooms in the United States. The benefits of mentorship have been well documented, leaders who look back and help lift others up the ladder of success are sorely needed. During the 7-month program, US based fellows will be paired with mentors, have the opportunity to learn from media experts on a wide range of topics, and build community with fellow journalists. This will be a valuable professional development opportunity for women and nonbinary journalists from underrepresented backgrounds, laying the groundwork for their success and future leadership in the news industry.

The mentorship program will begin in early 2027. Selected fellows would be expected to join a virtual cohort session and meet with their mentor 1:1 on a monthly basis. Dates and times will be decided at a later date in accordance to cohort schedule availability.

Please apply by Friday, October 30 at 11:59pm EST.

Note: The IWMF believes that gender does not conform to one notion. We are inclusive of all women, nonbinary and gender nonconforming journalists.
